DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT (Feb 27)

Join us to embark on a scenic Backcountry Women Adventure Women hike to McGillivray Falls in Whiteshell Provincial Park. This trail offers a moderate challenge and we will have options for distances based on the overall abilities of the group. During this trip, we will take in the beauty of a rocky Canadian Shield amidst a wintery landscape!

Arrival Time: Arrive by 10:00 AM. We will begin the hike no later than 10:30 AM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group. 

Location: McGillivray Falls Trail. Exact meeting location will be shared with registered participants. A valid Manitoba Parks pass is required and can be purchased online.

Duration/Distance: 4.3 KM + Optional Extra Distance via Centennial Trail
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking and snowshoeing experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear. Snowshoe use will be subject to the conditions at the time of the event. We may need to break trail along this route depending on recent use and snowfall. If you would like to borrow a pair of snowshoes, please reach out.

Terrain: Expect some up and down on the trail. Variable terrain with rocks and increased bush in some areas. We recommend hiking poles / other traction aids.

Pace: Moderate with a break for a lunch and additional stops for water as needed. 

Please keep dogs at home.
