Regarding Covid-19: Due to the numbers placed on gathering restrictions, we need your cooperation in only signing up for events that you can truly commit to attending. 

Masks are mandatory when gathering at the beginning and end of our events. Additionally, we recommend masks be worn during the activity (but are not required as long as physical distance is being maintained) - if group members are closer than 6 feet apart they MUST wear a mask covering their mouth and nose. Please review our full Covid-19 policy and safety practices here.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT (AUG 6)

Join us for a Backcountry Women "Adventure Women" hike on Hanson’s Creek in Whiteshell Provincial Park. This is a great trail for those looking for a bit of a challenge, as there are steeper rocky climbs and descents. The trail leads to the beautiful Hanson’s Creek where we will stop for a break.

Arrival Time: Arrive by 9 AM. We will begin the hike no later than 9:30 AM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group. 


Location: Hanson's Creek. Drivers must have a valid Manitoba Parks pass. They must be purchased online.


Backcountry Women acknowledges that this hike will take place on Treaty 3 Territory. 

Overall Difficulty Rating: due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 3/5.

This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance: 8 KM 
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear.

Terrain: The trail leads through a mix of forested and rocky terrain. There are multiple steeper rocky climbs and descents. 

Pace: Moderate with a break for a lunch and additional stops for water as needed. 

Please keep dogs at home.

Further details will be provided to registered participants. Participants are responsible for having a valid e-mail address, communicating with the event organizer regarding any changes in attendance, and for checking e-mail prior to an event.
