PRE-TRIP MEETING (MANDATORY): AUGUST 14 @ 6:30 PM (Location TBA)

PLEASE READ THE REQUIREMENTS AND ALL DETAILS BELOW PRIOR TO REGISTRATION

Join us in Riding Mountain for a fun weekend away together including hiking and exploring! Using our campsites at Wasagaming Campground as our home base, we'll be doing some exploring around town and hiking trails such as Bald Hill (intermediate trail) and Brule Trail (easy). Other options include renting kayaks or paddle boards to explore the lake and/or an evening venturing to the bison enclosure for potential wildlife viewing opportunities. Further details will be discussed at our pre-trip meeting. This trip will proceed rain or shine; plans will be adjusted accordingly in the case of bad weather. Full details will be provided to registered attendees.

Event leaders: Ashley Moore and Brittany Thiessen.

Participants will need to bring appropriate camping and day hiking gear. A list will be provided upon registering so that you can adequately prepare. (Please check the details in your registration confirmation email!) Gear and other details will be reviewed together during our pre-trip meeting. Please be prepared to rent, purchase or borrow any items needed for this trip if you do not have.

What the registration fee includes: campground accommodations for 2 nights including firewood and event / activity planning.
Costs not included: optional equipment rentals, gas, park entry/passes, additional group-planned activities, meals, other misc expenses.

Mandatory pre-trip meeting: August 14 - an email will be sent to participants 1 week prior to our meeting with further details.

Reach out if you are interested in bringing your dog. Please review dog policy here.

What to expect:

  • Six participants will be spread between the 2 camp sites. Everyone will need a small tent as we are limited to 3 small tents per site. We will need to remain physically distanced at our sites and during activities.
  • Day hiking will include intermediate level hikes at a moderate pace. You should have enough experience and fitness to be able to comfortably join an intermediate level hike where we may be facing a variety of conditions and terrain for extended distances.
  • Each day (Saturday and Sunday) will have a main group activity planned as well as optional activities that we'll plan as a group during our meeting. There won't be a planned activity for Friday evening as this time will be reserved for setting up camp and enjoying a relaxing evening.

Overall Average Difficulty Rating: due to the factors mentioned above, this activity is rated a 3/5.

Further details will be provided to registered participants. Participants are responsible for having a valid e-mail address, communicating with the event organizer regarding any changes in attendance, and for checking e-mails prior to an event.

In light of the global pandemic, we are cautiously proceeding, allowing only a small number of participants at each event. We will need your cooperation in only signing up for events you can truly commit to attending. If you miss out on registering please get yourself registered on the waitlist. We also ask for everyone's cooperation and patience as we all adjust! Please see our policy and safety practices here.

This event allows cancellation no less than 8 days before start of event. If you are no longer able to attend, please see our No Show Policy.
